Too Much

FaceBook and Friendster? It's just to much to keep up with. :p

WHY do I even have both? Face book has just too much applications.. I won't be going there for a long while.

*   *   *

Anyways.. this is the pizza I had somewhere in Penang at a place called Golden Crab restaurant.

Pizza

Just add RM 2 for extra cheese, and this is what you get. SUPERB pizza. YUM~

After the late dinner, we went for HITMAN at GSC Gurney.

hitman_movie_poster

If you've played the game, you would like this movie very much, but if you have not, maybe it's time you get to know who this Agent 47 is.

An old lady, a best friend, and the woman of your dreams

Something I got from the mail again.. But it's something very clever. Please post your answers, if you haven't got the emai! Haha..

You are driving through the highway on a stormy night in a 2 seater. As you come across a bus stop, you see:

1. An old lady who looks like she is about to die.
2. Your friend who once saved your life.
3. The man/ woman of your dreams. (For those who might be a little confused.. if you are a guy, choose woman instead of man and vice versa. Haha. :p)

Knowing that you have only 1 more place in your car, what would you do? Who would you save from the storm?

The answer:

Only 1 out of a 100 people (from the source) could give a very satisfactory answer. There's no right / wrong answer but this I would say is the best. Heard of the saying, "Hit 2 birds with one stone"? Well, this hit 3!

"I would stop at the bus stop, hand my car keys to my friend, have him drive the old lady to the hospital, and wait for the bus with the lady."

Even THEY think it's expensive!

I just visited an Expat website (Expat Focus) about working and living in Malaysia. And they say that Malaysia is heaven for expats that have a good income package. They agree that cost of living in Malaysia is expensive for Malaysians. Just compare someone working in UK earns 2000 pounds and a Malaysian earning 2000 Ringgit. In UK, it costs an average of 600 pounds for a laptop, and in Malaysia, RM 3000.

Just a simple comparison of percentage will show how low the living standard is in Malaysia. In UK, they use about 30% of their salary to buy a laptop, but a Malaysian, earning the same ammount of money (don't convert, just look at it dollar to dollar. I'll explain why I do not want to convert later on) spends 150% of his salary to buy a laptop. Imagine this, in UK, you can buy a laptop, pay for your rent, bills and still have enough to eat in the first month, while in Malaysia, you won't get to buy your laptop after 3 months if you consider rental and bills. If you are somehow superhuman and do not have to eat and sleep, you might be able to get your laptop after your second month working!

Why do I say we do not convert currency? This is because we are comparing between two people who have the same qualifications and they earn the same amount (not value) of money. 2000 Pounds and 2000 Ringgit. An average Malaysian spends about 10 % more on their groceries compared to their neighbours (Singapore for example).

Check out the article in Malaysia Today (it's a link... click it...come on... go ahead....), and many other sources. You will see how expensive it is to live in Malaysia. What is going on here? Isn't Malaysia a land full of resources, full of possibilities? Why are we paying so much more for goods and sometime even inferior goods! We pay about Rm 50,000 for a Proton Wira, while in Thailand, a new Honda City is going for About RM 40,000! (this value is to be verified again)

Just do a little more research on this, and you will find that Malaysia is in deed a very expensive place to live in. The standard of living is low compared to our neighbours. I'm not encouraging anyone to move out of Malaysia, instead, what are we doing to improve our lives. Is everything that we do in vain? Why do we work so hard, yet live such a mediocre life, while others in the world are working like we are but living a much comfortable life.

Isn't it time we ask for a change?

Feelin It

Are you feeling it? I am.. I feel poor. Suddenly. Out of the blue. Shockingly.

I thought that I was doing okay. That I had enough, that I will never feel so poor.

Cost of living has indeed increased a huge bit. I mean I used to think 10 cents, 50 cents is not much. I mean really. What can you do with 50 cents? Not even park your car for 1 hour! Just like the malay saying "sikit-sikit, lama lama jadi bukit" Can't be denied. Last week, we went to a mamak for nasi kandar. We had our usual of rice, chicken, and an egg. Usually, it's Rm4.90, but that evening, they charged us RM 5.50! 60 cents increase!

Everything rises, but our pay stays the same. How are we to live a life of bliss? Haha.. Guess this is it lah.. Life on earth. Not to be easy breezy. Even God said, we will have to toil for the ground to bear fruits. So here we are.. Toiling for our tables to have food on them everyday. Sometimes when I think of it, I fear.. "What if I can't provide for my family?" Oh the shame, the disgrace... I dream great dreams, I have great ambitions, but how will I attain them by playing so much dota? Haha.. Should I remove all the games on my PC? It's something I find so hard to let go.

Maybe I'm thinking too much.. Sometimes, when I look ahead, I fear that I won't be able to provide for my family, that I will have to work so extra hard just to have a comfortable life. I'll just have to trust God for my provision ler. Seriously, without God, I am nothing.

Arrr!! It's so hard to be an adult and be responsible for your own life. Being an adult is more than freedom, it's responsibility, it's being accountable for your own life. No longer do you look to your parents for food, no longer do you look to your parents when you are in need (maybe sometimes lah ). You are responsible for your own welfare,
The Malaysian climate is so tensed. Economically and politically. All so tensed. Will there be a change? I hope so.. For the better or worse, it's better than no change at all, then we will never know.

T.A.O

Last Wednesday night, 6 of us, rushed back form the office, shower, dressed up, and went to Auto City, Penang.

tao_web outside_web

The place serves Asian cuisine like Japanese, Chinese, etc.. all in a huge mix... (Mostly Japanese style) We chose to have a buffet meal, and it costs RM 50 per head. At first I felt it was a little expensive, then remembered that in KL, it would cost just as much for 1 meal in fancy restaurant, so since this is a buffet, I guess it's "cheaper".

Well, I forgot to bring my all wonderful camera... So all the photos were taken with SonyEricsson wonder gadgets.

From left, myself, Joel, Hung, Wei Zhu, Beh (Arch Lord King), and Edwin (skip the 2 waiters at the back )

We reached the place around 6 pm, and after being seated, Wei Zhu started ordering. Baked salmon... cold cuts.. bla bla bla.. I can't even remember the names of all the dishes that he ordered. But anyways, about 15 / 20 minutes later, the food started coming...

The food was so good... well... we were all too busy to pick up the cameras to snap ler.. hehe...

Warning. The following pictures are of explicit nature, could be disturbing to some. Please just scroll through quickly if you get disgusted with them.DSC00436

Ok ok.. Now... we wait for the food. HEHEHE..

Sugar

It's just 3.30, and I already am so sleepy... Blame it on the stupid game last night... Kinda addictive... craps... I need more sleep today... just for today. This morning, before I left for the office, I suddenly remembered the small bottle of energy that I have kept for quite some time - Livita. Whee! That stuff is pretty good... Still can be alert is I want to... but already feel a little bit of headache.. maybe I'm thinking too much about sleep...

Oh, something good happened today! I showed my SV the printout that I could do with VB.Net and he said "The report format is documented, we have to follow the format. If we can't do the same format, then we don't do automatic print."

In my heart, I was celebrating a little. It's so tedious to do a printout with VB.net programs, and some more, want to put into MS Word then print. So yeah... I've finished version 1 of the program! Hehe.. Better start building and populating the database with real data and write a good documentation for the system. This is it! Just about 2 more months, and I'll be back in uni...

Man... the clock really ticks slow.. I want to go home!!

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 cups of Coffee

I got this from an email, I think it's kinda good and I just want to share this with all of you.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 Hours in a day is not enough just remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with a unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions -- things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18.
There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

"Take care of the golf balls first --the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked".

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Please share this with someone you care about.

Ignore

Hugo (web)I just want to ignore the fact that tomorrow is Monday... wait a minute... it's Monday already on my calendar, craps... One more week of the office... Sometimes, I just wish like in the movie 'Click' I could just fast forward this part of my life. I just want to get it over, done with.

The weekdays seem to be super long while the weekends seem to just pass by in a blink of an eye. Well, looking at the bright side, I do have next weekend to look forward to, and church on Sunday.

Alrite, I'm all out of ideas as to what to write, but I just want to update my blog, and just put in a little record of what I did this week. Have a good week everyone.

雨

The damp air reminds me of home.
Feeling empty, I wish to just wither away.
What am I pursuing? I ask myself.
A long list I produce.

The joy in my heart is faint, seems to be gone.
My strength has been drained away.
How much longer must I hold on?
I look to you, longing for your embrace.

Today, I suddenly feel like buying a bass. Should I? Will it be like my other instruments? After a season, I get bored with it and leave it aside? Really want to improve on my bass...

Unwell

Last Thursday, after dinner, as I sat in front of my laptop, doing I don't know what, I suddenly felt like I was going to be sick. The flu came fairly quickly, I took my ever potent "Clarinaise" hoping that the flu will be gone in the morning. A little while after that, I felt chills all over my body and I quickly went to bed, hoping that the extra rest that I get will help me be better in the morning. * * *

* * * Waking up to a nose blocked with mucous, and throat so dry, I thought it has cracked or thorn somewhere, I knew, the episode wasn't over. I was too tired and lazy to getup to get ready for work, so I just slept in, thinking to myself that I'd go after lunch. I woke up around 10 am, and I reached for my phone, looked up my supervisor's number and gave him a call. The next thing I knew, I felt hungry, so fixed myself a cup of Milo and took another Panadol.

Well, all I did was sleep, sleep, sleep and play a little bit of DOTA here and there.. hehe..

He's not smiling a lot that weekend. Mebi coz he's a little sick.

Yesterday I was talking to Eilyn, and apparently, she was sick too! Well, I can't agree more with her that it could be uncle Kevin's boy... haha.. Giving us his virus!! But anyway, I'm better now, thanks be to my Father in heaven who is gracious and loving and always grants me good health!

Sidetracking

I have been running away from Your discipline.
While at the same time, I ask that You teach me to be more like You.

I want the easy way to You,
But no one ever said the road that leads to eternal life is easy.

I want to be brave and stay where You want me to stay,
Sit where you want me to sit, and listen to You.

I thank you for the weekend of encouragement,
of speaking to me, reminding me of the ultimate goal.

I have faith to believe You have heard my prayers,
The desires of my heart are all known to You.

I have nothing to hide from You,
Nor can I hide anything from You.

A season of testing, is what I must pass to grow,
A season of trusting, is what I must learn now.
A season of believing, is what I have in You,
A season of discipline, is how I become stronger.

I thank you Abba Father,
I love you Abba Father.

Long Weekend

AH... alas! It's Friday, and this weekend is going to be a long one. =)

Well, this week has been a good, busy and fulfilling week I should count. There has been much progress at work with the program that I am working on. On Monday, as I was trying out again like how I always did, this time, it worked!

Had pretty good food also this week, too bad I'm not on holidays, so I didn't take my camera with me ler. Today, I went for Kenny Rogers and tried the new roasted chicken with "spicy" sauce. It turned out to be very good, met my expectations. The best part is that, after we stepped out of the place, my friend told me that they just charged us for 1 plate of the dish! SO all in all, we paid RM30 only! Haha..

Looking forward to Sunday! After church, 5 of us; Darren, Eilyn, Fellicia, Su Ee and myself, we'll be heading to SP to meet uncle Kevin! Really looking forward to see all of them. Hope that the traveling will not be too tiring though.

K.L.A.N.G

Took the 6 pm bus from Penang straight after work. Like usual, I got stuck on the Penang bridge for about 40 minutes, (30 minutes before that turn around Penang, trying to get to another route to reach the bridge... =.=") Anyways.. I reached KL around 11.10 and I took the taxi to Vista Komanwell. Itching to play PS2, I got so engrossed in the game that I slept at 5 am, and then roughly 5 hours later, my sister called. " Wei! Want to go breakfast or not. We're going out for breakfast liao." My heart says go, but my body tell me "sleep..." Anyways, I got up and went with them cause so long never see them ady, so catch up with them a little ler.

By lunch time, I went to meet Cheryl at Central, (1 hr late. :p) and then got my own, first 'Touch N Go' card! Wheee~~~ so happy now that I don't have to queue to buy tickets for trains anymore. Just 'Touch, and Go'!

At the station, met 4 of Cheryl's juniors and apparently, one of them, Shirley *hope I got the spelling correct* is Elvina, Felix and Thana's cell group member! KL is not that 'BIG' after all. :p

So, we reached Klang at around 3.40 I think, and we went straight to HCA for the concert. Juwita was great, and her team was really great too. The music was great, so was the presence of God in the place. Missed the time of worship where we really gave our all in our praise to God and just danced, and jumped for Him! Throughout the concert, Juwita shared quite a bit about herself, like.... I learnt that she actually grew up in Klang between the age of 15 - 20.

The weekend was really great, and being able to see the HCA youths again, it was really great. All of us have grown so much~ It was really great to be able to go back there and meet up with everyone in Klang. Wish I can go again soon.

Thanks to Uncle Michael and Aunty Madeline for being so hospitable, and allowing me to stay at their home.

God is good all the time. And all the time, God is good!

Cheers~

You

You have captured my heart, I have kept you in mine for a long time.

Dreaming of you yesterday, seems to be the sweetest thing to happen to me this week.

Weird as it is, I feel joyful even though the events in the dream weren't all so wonderful.

I wish to keep this feeling with me for the rest of the day, but it is quickly fading.
Am I a fool to keep believing? To keep hoping?

Even if it takes my whole lifetime, I would wait for you.
